Donate Equipment

We want to give your pre-loved sports equipment
to those who need it most

Fair Game takes your sports equipment to some of the most remote and under-serviced communities in Australia where it helps remove barriers to participation in sport and fitness activities and supports a healthy lifestyle. Our Recycle & Donate program distributes over 8000 items a year having a positive social and environmental impact.

It costs $30 to deliver one child a piece of preloved equipment and a sports or health education session in regional Australia so please consider giving a financial contribution to get your kit to its new home and maximise its impact!

Frequently Asked Questions

Please read the FAQs below prior to contacting us regarding equipment donations as it might help answer some of your questions on how, what, when and where you can donate.

Please make sure any items you donate are in good, clean, useable condition.

We are able to replace laces, insoles and grips on racquets/bats but if the item is otherwise broken or worn out we will not be able to give it to someone else to use.

Please be mindful that equipment design and materials continue to evolve and improve over the years, so if it is a vintage piece it is unlikely to be suitable for current use.

We are always in need of:

  • AFL footballs, soccer balls, basketballs
  • Footy boots
  • Soccer shin pads
  • Runners/sneakers
  • Tee ball bats, mitts and balls
  • Track shoes
  • Cones
  • Boxing gloves/focus pads
  • Dodgeballs
  • Hula hoops
  • Large sports bags in good condition (eg. Cricket bags)

There are a range of other items that we get requests for so if you have equipment you think we can use don’t hesitate to contact us.  Please check the list below first of items we are unable to accept.

Unfortunately we cannot accept the following items:
  • Sports clothing and uniforms (except team sets of bibs)
  • Helmets (baseball, cricket or bike – due to safety reasons)
  • Golf clubs
  • Trophies or medals
  • Hats
  • Used drink bottles
  • Large items such as fitness machines, bikes etc.
  • Backpacks
  • Any item that is broken, worn out or not suitable for current use eg.old style tennis rackets.

You can help us by dropping your pre-loved sports equipment into one of the Fair Game bins which are located across Perth and WA. Our recycle bins are bright blue so you can’t miss them! (Scroll down to the map for bin locations)

Equipment can also be dropped directly to our office which is usually open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 10.00am and 2.30pm.

Our staff work part time – to ensure someone is there to receive your donation it is essential to email recycle@fairgame.org.au to confirm a drop off time.  It is also possible to drop donations on a Sunday morning if we have a Busy Bee running.  These are held every 2-3 months.  Please email to find out when the next one is taking place.

Our address is 339 Collier Road, Bassendean, 6054 WA.  We are in the CTI Logistics building.

If you have a specific donation or an extra large item do not hesitate to contact us at recycle@fairgame.org.au to discuss delivery/pickup options.

We are unable to pay for collection of items so please consider how you will get equipment to us before organising a donation drive.

If the donation is too large to leave in one of our blue collection bins or you have any other questions, please email us at recycle@fairgame.org.au and our volunteers will respond as soon as we can. (Please see the map below for bin locations, address and collection times)

The distance between our main collection points in Perth and the Eastern States presents some logistical difficulties for general donations. We are a volunteer organisation and as such cannot afford to the fund the transport of donations to Perth. We would love to accept your donations of any high yield items including footballs, basketballs and football boots. If you are financially positioned to be able to provide this please let us know and we can organise the finer details. Sometimes travelling friends can bring the equipment over with them to deposit at our collection centres in Perth.

We have limited storage capacity in Sydney so may be able to accept some high turnover items there.  Please email us at recycle@fairgame.org.au to check.

We are unable to accept clothing donations as we don’t receive many requests for these items.

Please consider donating to other organisations such as Good Samaritans or St. Vincent de Paul.

The exception is team sets of bibs for Soccer and basketball which we would welcome.  We also always require footy boots and runners/sneakers.

We have deductible gift recipient donation status for financial donations and will send you a tax invoice on receipt of your financial donation.  It costs $30 to deliver a sports or fitness program and a piece of recycled sports equipment to a child in regional WA so we greatly appreciate every dollar you give.  Click here to donate. Unfortunately we cannot provide a receipt for recycled second hand equipment for taxation purposes

No.  Thank you for thinking of Fair Game with your generous offer, but we are not currently accepting trophy donations as we currently have a surplus and limited storage space.

Junior football/soccer boots, runners/sneakers, AFL balls, basketballs and soccer balls are our most requested items. Running collection drives at your sporting club is a great way to collect these items.  Click here for a digital poster that you can print to help promote your collection drive.  If you would like any further information to help you with your collection drive please email us at info@fairgame.org.au  If you are located outside Perth please note that we cannot pay for items delivery to our Bassendean storage facility.

Fantastic!  Junior football/soccer boots, Runners/sneakers, AFL balls, basketballs and soccer balls are our most requested items for donation. Running collection drives at your sporting club is a great way to collect these items.  Click here for a digital poster that you can print to help promote your collection drive.  Click here for some of our top tips to help you organise your drive.  If you would like any further information to help you with your collection drive please email us at recycle@fairgame.org.au If you are located outside Perth please note that we cannot pay for items delivery to our Bassendean storage facility. We will endeavour to have someone officially collect the items from your organisation in person to allow for a photo opportunity for a local newspaper, if desired.

That would be fantastic!  We have a special program for schools that you can get involved in.

The Be a Sporting Hero  Free Dress Day encourages the involvement of all students in supporting Fair Game.  Students make a gold coin donation to come dressed as their sporting hero (or in team colours) to school.  They also bring along any unwanted or outgrown sports equipment or shoes to donate.  They become sports heroes themselves through their donations which allow another child to enjoy taking part in sport.  Find out more here…

We ask that your donations be in good, clean condition, because they are going to a second home and therefore need to be functional and durable.

We are able to replace grips on racquets and bats as well as insoles and laces on runners/boots if they are in otherwise good functional condition.

Please be mindful that equipment design and materials continue to evolve and improve over the years, so if it is a vintage piece it is unlikely to be suitable for current use.

Due to privacy issues we are not usually able to supply a photo of the recipient of your donation.   If your club is making a large equipment donation we will endeavour to have someone pick this up in person where practicable, for a photo opportunity for your club/community newsletter or local newspaper.

We are always looking for potential recipients for our equipment as we love to help people get active.

Please read our Request Equipment FAQ for more details and to fill in a Wish List Form.

Please note that we are unable to pay for shipping.  Thanks to the generous support of CTI Logistics we are able to ship requests to the following centres which may make it easier for collection for you: Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha, Newman, Geraldton, Bunbury and Kalgoorlie.

Fair Game has a vision for a Fit & Healthy Australia and as such our focus is on providing equipment to Australian communities in need.

No, we are a charity and do not purchase new product to donate.
