About

Matt grew up in the northern suburbs of Perth and graduated from Greenwood Senior High School in 2002. He travelled after school and after completing a Summer Camp in Pittsburgh he decided to pursue a career in teaching. In 2010 Matt began his career as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Fitzroy Valley District High School. Matt has subsequently taught in the Mid-West community of Mount Magnet at the local District High School. It was there that he was introduced to Fair Game inspired by his first-hand experience of the team’s work. Matt has been a key community contact for the Fair Game’s Mid-West regional outreach.

In 2012 Matt was selected for his current role at Ashdale Secondary College and moved back to Perth. Matt has taken on a key leadership role within Fair Game as Fair Game’s Kimberley Regional Coordinator. Matt is torn between his love for both Perth and Rural WA and Fair Game offers him the opportunity to revisit remote Western Australia multiple times a year. He is passionate about Aboriginal Education, health and wellbeing and his favourite thing about Fair Game is being able to visit his old students to see how they are growing up.
